
Two Team Ireland boxers have won through to the World Junior Championships in Yerevan, Armenia, following today’s semi-finals.
63Kg John Donoghue, Olympic Mullingar BC, contesting his 4th bout of the tournament, Greece’s Emmanouil Fotiadis, a two time European Junior champion. This was a tough and testy bout, but John came out the 3-0 victor on a scoreline of 28:28; 27:29; 28:28; 27:29; 27:29. John will contest for gold against Uzbekistan’s Khikmatillo Ulmasov.

Siofra will box her final against India’s Sachin Shurshti Sathe.
Saturday is a rest day at the tournament, and finals will be boxed on Sunday, from 11am, Irish time. While the finals matchlist has been released, the full programme is not yet available.
