Sean Purcell and Matthew McCole lost out in their bids to reach the last-four of the World University Championships in Russia this afternoon.
The Irish pair were beaten on unanimous decisions by Armenia’s Zhorzhik Marutyan and Russia’s Alisa Sharifov in Elista.
Terry McEntee won his last 16 bout on Saturday and is back in action in the quarter-finals tomorrow.
Rickey Nesbitt received a bye into the last-four and is between the ropes on Wednesday.
