
7 Team Ireland boxers will vie for the top of the podium at the Eindhoven Box Cup today.
26 countries are contesting the tournament, which is hosted by the Dutch Boxing Federation.
In Sunday’s semi finals, 6 Team Ireland boxers medaled, and will bring home bronze – they are 50kg Chantelle Robinson, who took on Norway, 66kg Kaci Rock who met Belgium, 57kg Robyn Kelly who contested against Germany, 75kg Bethany Doocey who boxed Sweden and 92kg David Nevin, against Ukraine.
50kg Caitlin Fryers will contest her final against Norway – and is the first bout on today’s card, beginning at 1pm Irish time. Directly after that fight, 51kg Clepson dos Santos meets Germany and in bout 3, 60kg Rhys Owens also takes on Germany. 3 bouts later 54kg Rachel Lawless steps between the ropes against Belgium and in Bout 11, 63.5kg Shamie McDonagh contests against PRT. There will be a break after bout 12, and when boxing resumes, 75kg Gavin Rafferty boxes Ukraine, and 92+kg Martin McDonagh vies against Germany..
