ANNUAL SUMMER BOXING CAMP CONCLUDES IN CASTLEBAR

The annual Summer Boxing Camp was held last week in Lough Lannagh Holiday Village, Castlebar, Co.Mayo.

A good week of learning was had by all and hopefully the boxers can bring the skills and techniques learned back to their clubs.

The facilities on site in Lough Lannagh Holiday Village are second to none. The accommodation in the lodge and the food provided would match any top class hotel in the country. However, it’s the friendliness of the staff towards all their guests which sets them apart.

As stated previously, for anybody looking for a relaxing holiday in the West of Ireland, they need to make contact with Geraldine or Paul in Lough Lannagh Holiday Village…they won’t be disappointed.

Castlebar Boxing Club is only 40 yards from the doorstep of the lodge and the boxers had full use of that premises for all sessions during the camp. We are grateful to the committee of Castlebar Boxing Club for making their wonderfully equipped club available to the IABA for the summer camp.

Lough Lannagh itself and the newly opened swimming pool provided the location for the necessary recovery sessions. The nearby track was the place where all days began with the early morning running sessions. Some boxers even tried their hands at tennis but after playing with Jake Daly, they might be better off sticking with the boxing!

A big thanks also to coaches Stephen Molloy and Alan Donnellan who expertly coached at this camp and gave up their own valuable time to do so.

Regards,

Paddy
