The draws for the 2023 National Junior Cadets Championships have taken place and are published here. Over 200 boxers from 107 clubs will contest the tournament.
It is a condition of entry that all competitors and officials have a signed Waiver/Members Acknowledgement Form and adhere to any agreement made with the Association sponsors.
Anti-Doping may be carried out at any stage of the championships and all boxers must advise the doctor of any medication they are taking or have taken in the preceding 4 weeks. It is imperative that all boxers adhere to the Anti-Doping Rules and Regulations. For any queries regarding this matter, boxers/coaches should contact Mr Larry Morrison, IBA Anti-Doping Officer on 086-0292476.
Non-Pregnancy Declaration forms must be signed.
Attention is called to the stipulation in the IABA Rule book that each boxer presented by his/her club shall be fit to box. This is the responsibility of the club.
Attire: Boxers shall have one red and one blue vest. Hair must be tied back, and swimming hats or hairnets should be worn under the headgear for boxers with long hair. No red, orange or pink gum shields are allowed.
Coaches: They must wear track suitsandrunners at all sessions and endeavour to set a high standard of hygiene in the corners. No shorts, caps or hats are allowed. Only qualified coaches are permitted in corners.
Sportsmanship: All decisions must be accepted in a sporting manner. Any complaints must be addressed to the Chief Official, Mr. Philip Rooney. Please show respect to all Ringside Officials
50kg Caitlin Fryers’ final against Norway was the first bout on today’s card. The European silver medalist at the weight will bring home gold. Directly after that fight, 51kg Clepson dos Santos met German opposition also got the win. In bout 3, 60kg Rhys Owens was also up against Germany, and homes home a silver medalist. 3 bouts later 54kg Rachel Lawless stepped between the ropes against Belgium. She’s now the reigning Eindhoven 54kg champion. In Bout 11, 63.5kg Shamie McDonagh contesting against Portugal, celebrated his birthday with a gold medal. 75kg Gavin Rafferty met Ukraine and contested strongly – but comes home with silver. 92+kg Martin McDonagh had to withdraw through injury against Germany and also comes home with silver.
In Sunday’s semi finals, 7 Team Ireland boxers medaled, and will bring home bronze – they are 50kg Chantelle Robinson, who took on Norway, 66kg Kaci Rock who met Belgium, 57kg Robyn Kelly who contested against Germany, 75kg Bethany Doocey who boxed Sweden and 92kg David Nevin, against Ukraine. 67kg Gareth Dowling had to withdraw from his semi-final through injury

The draw will set the schedule of boxing for the tournaments and will be published on Tuesday evening. Programmes will be issued on the evening of Wednesday, May 31st.
7 Team Ireland boxers will vie for the top of the podium at the Eindhoven Box Cup today.
26 countries are contesting the tournament, which is hosted by the Dutch Boxing Federation.
