BOYS & GIRLS SENIOR CADET CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018

20 July 2018 Venue: National Stadium, Dublin

Boxing: August 10th,11th,17th,18th, 24th,25th.

Weigh-in: Initial Weigh in and Medicals will take place on Sunday, August 5th, 10am to 11am at the following venues.

Antrim: Dockers Social Club
Connacht: Dalton Inn, Claremorris
Leinster & Dublin: Ringside Club
Munster: Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown
Ulster: Omagh Station Centre.

Draw: Wednesday 8th August at 1.00pm. Results will be emailed to Club Secretaries and posted on wwww.iaba.ie after Draw.

Duration of rounds 3×2 Minutes

Eligibility: Boys & Girls born in 2002 and 2003. Boxers must have competed in their Provincial Championships.

Weight Divisions: 46kg, 48kg,50kg, 52kg,54kg57kg,60kg,63kg,66kg,70kg,75kg,80kg,80+kg.

Boxing: Friday 10th August, 7pm at National Stadium
National Stadium Saturday 11th August (11am)
National Stadium Friday 17th August (7pm)
National Stadium Saturday 18th August (11am)
National Stadium Friday 24th August (7pm)
National Stadium Saturday 25th August (11am)

Weigh-in for Finals: Boxers must weigh in on the morning of their Finals, 8 am to 9 am at the National Stadium.

Entry Fee: Medical Record Cards and entry fee of 10 Euros must be produced at the initial weigh in.

Boxers must advise details of any medication they are taking or have taken in the preceding 4 weeks.

Anti Doping may be carried out at any stage of the competition.

Entries: Entries giving name, club, date of birth and weight to reach the under-signed at the National Stadium not later than Friday 3rd August.

It is a condition of entry that all boxers and their clubs have signed and submitted the Members Acknowledgement Form.

Attire: Coaches must wear full tracksuits and runners in the corners at all sessions, no caps or hats are permitted, Coaches must endeavour to set a high standard of hygiene.

No Red, Pink or Orange Gum shields. No international vests to be worn in the ring.

Boxers must wear hairnets or swim caps under their headgear. Long sleeved tops are not permitted under Vests.

Conduct: Please be advised that Clubs will be held responsible for the conduct of their supporters throughout these Championships.

ULSTER HIGH-PERFORMANCE TRAINING CAMP

 

 

The Ulster High-Performance Development squad finished up an intensive training camp at the University of Ulster yesterday.

Forty No. 1 and No.2 national boxers took part in the week long camp in Jordanstown.

Irish and Ulster High-Performance coach John Conlan said that they are building a team toward the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

“The boxers had a very good camp and got through at lot of work this week. They’re a very talented squad of young athletes” he said.

NATIONAL U/18 FINALS

Nineteen new Irish champions were crowned at the National U/18 Men’s and Women’s Championships at the National Stadium in Dublin tonight.

European Youth and Junior champions Daina Moorehouse and Callum Walsh both had their hands raised in victory, along with Jude Gallagher, Brandon McCarthy and  Caitlin Fryers.

All five are part of an 11-strong Irish squad for next month’s AIBA World Youth Men’s and Women’s Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

McCarthy claimed the second of two belts for the St Michael’s Athy BC after Terry Donoghue beat Belfast’s Danny Duffy in the flyweight decider.

Kane Tucker also emerged victorious while Edward McDonagh secured the last title of the evening in the ring.

Forty seven bout were completed over the course of the tournament over the last three weekends.
