Simplice Fotsala of the Cameron lost to Galal Yafai of Team GB in the opening bout of the Rio Olympics at at the 9,000 capacity Pavilion 6 venue today.

Paddy Barnes will be keeping a close eye on the 49kg duel between Artur Havhannisyan (Armenia) and Samuel Carmona (Spain) at approximately 3.30pm today.The winner meets Barnes in the last 16 on Monday.

Italy’s Carmine Tommasone will bring the curtain down on over 100 years of Olympic boxing heritage this afternoon when he becomes the first professional boxer to compete at the Olympics versus Mexico’s Lindolfo Delgado.
