DAY 1 RESULTS – NATIONAL U/22 CHAMPIONSHIPS

World Elite quarter-finalist Amy Broadhurst advanced to within one win of her second successive Irish title at this level.

The AIBA World No. 8 (at light-welter) and current European U/22 champion beat Jennifer Lehane on a unnimnous decision.

Cian Doyle, Dominic Bradley, Matthew McCole, Terry McEntee and Pierce O’Leary also advanced, while former World Junior bronze medallist Niamh Early beat Cork’s Nycole Hayes and Isobella Huges beat Aisling Murray.

European U/22 finalist Aoife O’Rourke, who reached the last 16 at the 2018 World Elites, outpointed European medallist Lauren Kelly in the final bout on tonight’s card.

The men’s semi-finals will be decided tomorrow night. Boxing begins at 6pm.

Saturday weigh-ins – 8am to 9am and 12pm to 1pm at the National Stadium.
