DAY 2 RESULTS – NATIONAL U/22 CHAMPIONSHIPS

The lines ups for the January 25 National U/22 finals have been completed.

Thirteen semi-finals were resolved at the National Stadium this evening to confirm Friday week’s match ups.

World Youth bronze medallist Gabriel Dossen progressed to within one win of successive U/22 belts at the expense of former European Schoolboy medallist Jason Harty.

The Olympic BC man will now meet Dublin’s John Joe Nevin – who saw off Edward Donovan in the corresponding 75kg semi-final tonight – for gold.

John Paul Hale and Sean Purcell were involved in one of the tightest bouts of the night, with Hale earning a 3-2 split decision to set up the 56kg final with Colm Murphy.

Sean Conroy and Kelyn Cassidy also advanced on the narrowest of verdicts versus Rhys Moran and Thomas O’Toole.

Patryk Adamus, David Oliver Joyce, Matthew McCole, Pierce O’Leary, Patrick Donovan, Aaron Daly and Gytis Lisinskas also had their hands raised in victory.

The European U/22 Men’s and Women’s Championships will be hosted in Vladikavkaz, Russia between March 7 and 18.
