Dossen Opens Ireland’s Men’s European Championship Account With A Win.

Team Ireland’s Gabriel Dossen claiming his preliminaries win.

Team Ireland’s middleweight, Gabriel Dossen, got proceedings off to a winning start at the Men’s European Championships in Yerevan, Armenia.

He took on Spain’s Miguel Entrena Cuadrado, in a tight bout which resulted in a 4-1 split in favour of the boxer in red. The judges scored the bout 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 28: 29, 30:27.

Gabriel next boxes on Wednesday, when he meets No. 4 seed, Bulgaria’s Mofid Rami Kiwan.

3 Team Ireland boxers are in action on Day Two. 71kg Luke Maguire boxes Poland’s Daniel Wieslaw Piotrowski in bout 22 of the competition, the first bout in Ring B’s afternoon session. Dylan Eagleson, contesting at 54kg, first steps between the ropes to meet Turkey’s Muhammet Acli in bout 5 in Ring A’s afternoon session. 63.5kg, Brandon McCarthy faces England Joseph Tyers in Ring A’s evening session – that meeting opens proceedings.
