The Irish women’s squad will reunite for the final big outing of 2016 in Bulgaria later this year.

The 2016 European Women’s Elite Championships have been confirmed for November 14th/16th in Sofia.

Rio 2016 Olympian Katie Taylor and Claire Grace are Ireland’s only medallist at Continental Elite level so far, with Taylor winning six straight gold medals up to the last European Championships in 2014 and Grace securing bronze.

Meanwhile, Kellie Harrington will pick up 800 World rankings points for winning silver at the World Women’s Elite Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan last weekend.

The Dublin light-welter should move into a top five position in the world light-welter rankings when the current tables are adjusted to reflect performances in Astana.

Taylor claimed bronze in the Kazakh capital to take her tally at World level to six medals, five of which are gold, at World Elite level.
