GOURMET FOOD PARLOUR AND FOODCO ANNOUNCE NEW SPONSORSHIP DEAL WITH IRISH BOXING

Gourmet Food Parlour and Foodco are delighted to announce the launch of a new initiative with the Irish Boxing National Squad for 2020 to sponsor their team refuel. This new sponsorship from both Gourmet Food Parlour and FoodCo Food Service Company is a joint initiative to provide refuel meals for the Irish Boxers Elite Squad.

Gourmet Food Parlour are delighted to be able to offer their support to the boxing squads. Speaking at the launch Lorraine Heskin, CEO of GFP said “We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with the Irish Boxers Elite Squad. We have been working with the boxing association for the last three years so we are honoured to be able to sponsor part of their journey. “They have done us so proud over the past few years so it is a fantastic way for us to be able to assist them in their preparations towards another successful year ahead” she added.

Bernard Dunne, High-Performance Director of the Irish Athletic Boxing Association also attended the launch in GFP Santry “Gourmet Food Parlour has been providing us with the highest quality refuel for the past few years and we are delighted to be able to partner with both GFP and FoodCo for this initiative. Our elite boxers deserve the best possible preparation and this initiative ensures that they will be well covered from their refuel and nutrition needs with the fantastic array of nutritionally balanced meals available from the Gourmet Food Parlour Sports catering division”.

Robert Walsh from Food Co is proud to be associated with the Irish Boxing squad. Speaking at the launch Rob added: “Ireland is recognised as one of the world’s leading boxing nations and a great source of pride for Irish people. We at FoodCo are always looking to support Irish sporting teams and this was a perfect combination for us to work with our business partners Gourmet Food Parlour to provide the ingredients for the range of meals on offer to the boxers” he added.

The boxers first outing is on January 20th in Bulgaria which gears them up for the European qualifiers in London in March where Ireland will send a strong male and female team. Current European Elite champions Kurt Walker and Aoife O’Rourke line out at feather and middle weight whilst former World Elite lightweight champion Kellie Harrington returns from a hand injury for her first competitive outing since the European Games in Belarus last June.

High-Performance Director Bernard Dunne along with coaches: Zaur Antia, John Conlan, Dmitry Dimitruk and Eoin Pluck are really excited about the collaboration and are looking forward to a fantastic year ahead.

Gourmet Food Parlour’s ethos is to produce healthy, nutritious, affordable food sourcing local ingredients and using local suppliers where possible. Established in 2006 with a restaurant in Dun Laoghaire, there are now 10 locations across Dublin and Galway including a state-of-the-art catering kitchen in Santry.
