Team Ireland finished in 4th spot in the medals table at the European Junior Championships which concluded in Albena, Bulgaria today.
Russia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Ireland and England, in that order, commanded the top five positions. Ireland also finished in 4th spot in the rankings table.
Walsh wasn’t the only man from the Rebel County in the ring today, as Cork’s John Casey, a 2-Star AIBA R&J, refereed the Denmark versus Russia 80+kg final, the final bout of the 21st edition of the tournament.

Irish boxing – male and female – has now won 25 medals in World and European competition since June of this year.
The Irish squad are due to arrive home from Bulgaria via Dublin Airport via Istanbul at 9.50am tomorrow (September 26th) morning.
