Irish squad celebrate in Zagreb

 

Team Ireland finished in 4th spot in the medals table at the 2016 European Schoolboy Championships in Croatia.

The tournament finished Sunday in Zagreb.

Russia,Ukraine,England,Ireland and Italy,in that order, commanded the top five positions.Click here for table.

William Hayden (gold), Jason Myers (gold), Francis Maughan (bronze), Paddy Collins (bronze), Jason Irwin (bronze) and Cain Lewis (bronze) finished in podium positions for Ireland.

Irish boxing has now won 13 gold medals – 79 medals in total – at this level since the inaugural European Schoolboy Championships in Rome in 2003.
