Waterford’s Keylan Cassidy, pictured, got Ireland off to a winning start at the European U/22 Championships in Braila, Romania this evening.
The Munster middleweight impressively beat Armenia’s Armen Minasyan on a 5-0 unanimous decision to book his ticket into the last 16.
At least four Irish boxers will now be in action on St Patrick’s Day at the 2nd edition of the Championships.
Current Irish Elite champion Kurt Walker and Jordan Moore are between the ropes tomorrow.
