The 20th edition of the tournament since Havana 1974 runs from September 7 to September 21 in Ekaterinburg.

The squad, which includes current European Elite champion Kurt Walker, depart for a final training camp at the German Olympic Centre in Kienbaum next Sunday under coaches John Conlan and Eoin Pluck.

The host nation, the Cuban No. 1 side, two Thailand squads and Ireland will take part in the camp with Ireland travelling straight to Ekaterinburg from Germany.

Ireland trained in Kienbaum last March in the lead up to the Chemistry Cup.

Germany coach Eddie Bolger said they’re looking forward to a world-class training and sparring camp with Ireland, Thailand and Cuba who topped the medals table at the previous World Championships in Hamburg in 2017.

Meantime, boxing begins on September 9 in Ekaterinburg.

The tournament will be contested across the eight Olympic weights for men.
