Sean McComb, one win under his belt so far, meets Cuba’s Americas Continental champion Andy Cruz-Gomez for a place in the last-eight of the World Championships in Hamburg, Germany tonight.
Both light-welters meet at approximately 7.15pm (Irish time) this evening.
Tipperary super-heavy Dean Gardiner impressively ran out a convincing winner – 30-27,30-27,30-27, 30-26,30-26 – over Korea’s Hyeon Do Kim in his opening bout last evening.
Rio Olympians Joe Ward and Brendan Irvine, who both received byes nto the last 16, meet Georgia and Korea on Monday, while Gardiner is in against Columbian No. 4 seed Cristian Salcedo on a big day for Irish boxing.
