
Met Eireann has issued the highest-level weather warning, a Red Alert, for several counties, because of Storm Barra.
Winds of 80 km/h with severe or damaging gusts in excess of 130km/h are forecast, and, high volumes of rain, which means conditions for travelling could be dangerous.
Clubs in these high alert areas are advised to cancel training sessions or club events planned for this evening.
A Red Alert is in place in the following counties:
Clare
Kerry
Cork
An Orange Alert is in place in the following counties:
Limerick
Waterford
Galway
Mayo
Wexford
Dublin
Louth
Wicklow
Meath
Yellow Alerts are in place for all other counties. The alert status in any county may change as Storm Barra travels across Ireland and Met Eireann will issue up-dates here . An outline of the warning system is available here
