SWEDEN V IRELAND RESULTS

Michael Nevin and Aoife O’Rourke, pictured above and below, received Best Male and Female Boxer Awards after last night’s five-bout meeting with Sweden in Stockholm.

Ireland and England were invited to the Swedish capital to add an international flavour to Sweden’s 100th Anniversary celebrations.

Nevin and Aidan Walsh, whose sister Michaela became the first Irish woman to claim Chemistry Cup gold in Germany on Saturday, won on unanimous decisions in Stockholm.

Dimitry Dimitruk and Michael Mongan worked Ireland’s corner last night.

The Irish Athletic Boxing Association extend best wishes and congratulations to their Swedish counterparts on the occasion of their 100th Anniversary.
