One Week Left To Register For AGM On Company Matters.

There is one week left in which clubs can register for the IABA AGM, on company matters. The AGM takes places, via Zoom, on Monday, December 20th at 7pm.

The holding of an AGM before December 31st is a requirement of the Companies Act, is permitted by means of electronic communications in the Companies (Miscellaneous Provisions (Covid-19) Act 2020 Section 174A (3),(5).

No elections to any office will be held at this meeting.

As advised on November 22nd, the deferral of the election element of the AGM is to allow candidates in the elections to Central Council affected by the recent determination of the Independent Membership Panel to exercise their right to an external appeal of that decision, using the mechanisms of Sports Dispute Service Ireland, SDSI.

AGM Agenda:

  1. Chairperson’s welcome address
  2. Adoption of minutes of the 2020 AGM.
  3. Safeguarding report
  4. Anti-doping report
  5. 2020 audited financial statements and directors report
  6. Re-appointment of auditors, by ballot of club voting delegates.

Attendance

This event is being held online, only. All attendees need to register for tickets through Eventbrite and also set up a Zoom Account with a matching email address, per attendee. Affiliated clubs can register here

Affiliated clubs can register two attendees – a club voting delegate and a non-voting delegate.

Registration through Eventbrite will include an option for club voting delegates (1 per affiliated club) to vote on Item 6, the re-appointment of auditors. Club voting delegates can vote on Item 6 during the Eventbrite registration process. The result of the vote on re-appointment of auditors will be announced at the AGM.

In order to confirm numbers, registration will close on Wednesday 15th December at 12pm. Only registered and affiliated IABA members will be permitted to attend the AGM.

Questions on company matters can be submitted to Company Secretary, John Nangle, via info@iaba.ie by Wednesday 15th December at 12pm, marked for the attention of the Company Secretary.

Annual Report & Financial Statement:
BKRM Corporate Services, have prepared an Annual Report and Financial Statement for the financial year ended December 31st, 2020. The report and statement are available on the IABA website, here.

The remaining items on the originally scheduled agenda: elections, CEO up-date and the President’s closing address, will take place at a meeting to be announced in due course.

Notes:

All clubs attending remotely are advised to set up a Zoom account well before the AGM. IABA has published a how-to guide on setting up a Zoom account, available here

Up-Dated Covid 19 Guidance For Clubs

Additional Covid 19 restrictions were announced by Government on Friday, December 3rd and come in to being on Tuesday, December 7th.

Training & Sparring:

Training should take place in pods of 6 where individuals are not vaccinated or have mixed immunity status and there should be 3m between pods. Where all participants are vaccinated, no fixed capacity limits apply. Where mixed immunity exists, the coach should remain distant from all pods and have no close proximity interactions with any pod member. He/she can however oversee multiple pods once there are no interactions with any of them.  Comprehensive information on training protocols is available here

Showers and changing rooms are permissible for fully vaccinated individuals. Where mixed immunity exists, the use of these should be pod based. Inter club

Inter-club sparring can take place for all fully vaccinated individuals. Those not vaccinated must remain in their pods of 6.

All appropriate protective measures and Covid-19 protocols should remain in place to mitigate the spread of the virus. Where equipment must be shared, appropriate sanitisation measures must remain in place. Wearing of masks should remain a priority especially for those not directly involved in the training or competition setting. Ventilation must also remain a priority as it’s a core component of the Covid-19 response. Doors and/or windows should be opened to ensure a passive air flow which will help mitigate the risk of virus spread. Consideration of indoor space densities and duration of indoor activities should be taken into account when planning events.

Spectator Events:

From Tuesday, December 7th,  there will a maximum 50% spectator capacity at indoor sporting events. As with previous guidance spectators at these events must be fully seated.

To attend indoor sporting activities, the use of the EU Digital COVID Certificate (vaccine or recovery certificate) will be required

Travel:

For clubs preparing to travel abroad for competition, or to welcome competitors from abroad to training camps and tournaments in Ireland, please note changes in effect from Sunday, December 5th, here

IABA’s competition protocols, published in November, remain in place, and IABA return to training protocols are available here

Covid-19 Officers continue to play a vital role in ensuring that all contact tracing data is collected and all Covid-19 protocols are being followed. They will remind individuals to continue promoting good respiratory and hand hygiene.

Any boxer, coach, club official, volunteer or parent who does not feel well, or who may have Covid symptons, should not attend any club or competition event. Additional HSE guidance is available here
