Congratulations to Kane Tucker.
The Holy Trinity ABC ace was was recently presented with the Mary Peters Award for Achievements in Boxing and was also awarded the Mary Peters Trust Sponsorship.
Tucker, a pupil at St Joseph’s Boys High School, is the first Newry man to scoop the award and the fourth boxer after Rio Olympians Paddy Barnes and Michael Conlan and Carl Frampton.
Top international golfer Rory McElroy has also won this award.
The aim of the Mary Peters Trust is to help aspiring young athletes, whatever their sport or social background, to realise their maximum potential by assisting them in both a financial and advisory capacity.
