Brett McGinty and Paul Ryan go head-to-head for the welterweight title in the first of the weekend’s finals at the U/18 Championships at Dublin’s National Stadium tonight.

The Ulster and Leinster pair clash in the only final of the penultimate day of the tournament.

Former (2015) European Youth champion Michael Nevin and George Bodor meet Friday in one of 11 semi-finals with the victor progressing to face Jason Clancy in Saturday’s 75kg decider.

Shane Flavin and World Junior silver medallist Eamer Coughlan clash at 56kg, with Terry McEntee and Jack Kelly meeting in the corresponding bantamweight semi-final.

Athletes only weigh-in on the day of their finals at the National Stadium.

Saturday’s weigh-ins – 8am and 9am.

The IABA are using the U/18 Championships as part of their selection process for November’s AIBA World Youth Championships in St Petersburg, Russia.
