A top Irish team took on the Big Apple’s finest as part of the St Patrick’s celebrations and won the “Pummeling On The Pier” night of boxing 7-2.
Rio Olympian Brendan Irvine and current EU Elite champion Kurt Walker made welcome returns after being out with hand injuries. Both men won their first fights back.
“It’s been a serious hard few months out of the ring but I have got through it on the good side and I am ready for the big year ahead,” said European Games finalist Irvine who has been out with the injury since captaining Ireland versus India last May.
