EUROPEAN JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019

 

The 2019 European Men’s and Women’s Junior Championships will be hosted in Romania in May, the EUBC has announced.

Team Ireland claimed 13 medals and finished in 3rd spot in the medals table at the 2018 European Men’s and Women’s Junior Championships in Russia.

BOY 3 & 4 AND CADET TRAINING TOMORROW (SUNDAY)

Squad training for Boy 3 and Boy 4 Champions plus any Cadet Champions at those ages in 2018 is on tomorrow, Sunday, in the High Performance Gym at the National Boxing Stadium.

The first session starts at 11am and the second session will be over at approximately 3:30pm.

Boxers are advised to bring their full training gear including good quality 16oz sparring gloves, bag gloves, groin guard, head guard, wraps, skipping rope, gumshield, water for two sessions, a towel and a change of clothes.

NATIONAL U/22 CHAMPIONSHIPS NOTICE

The weigh-ins for the National U/22 Men’s and Women’s Championships will be held on Sunday, January 6 between 9am and 10am.

The weigh-ins will be hosted at the six units.Venues and full Circular to follow.

Boxing at one of Europe’s top National U/22 tournaments begins on January 11 at Dublin’s National Stadium.

Ireland, courtesy of Amy Broadhurst and Aoife O’Rourke, claimed gold and silver at the European U/22s in Romania last April.

BALDOYLE BC – PRIDE OF THE NORTHSIDE

 

Dublin’s Baldoyle BC were celebrating last night after scooping the Best Club Award at the Northside People Community & Sports Awards.

The awards ceremony was held at the Carlton Hotel in Dublin Airport and hosted by Radio 1 star Joe Duffy.

The founding member of the Baldoyle BC, Ned Hendricks, and head coach Christy Dunne accepted the award on behalf of club at a Gala dinner.
