John Mongan and Larry Durand at AIBA exams
Waterford’s Larry Durand and Galway’s John Mongan got the decision in Spain!
The Saviours/Crystal BC and Olympic BC pair were notified today that they’ve passed their AIBA 2-Star Referee & Judge exams.
Exams were held in Benidorm between September 19th and 23rd in conjunction with the Boxam multi-nations.
The course and test consisted of three parts; theoretical, practical and exams.
“Congratulations to Larry and John on behalf of the Irish Athletic Boxing Association. We are absolutely delighted on their behalf,” said IABA President Dominic O’Rourke.
Meanwhile, the AIBA 1-Star coaching course concludes tomorrow with exams at the National Stadium in Dublin.
Twenty five students are sitting the course and exam which began last Friday at the home of Irish boxing.
The IABA wishes all participants the very best of luck in their exams.
